He's also a writer, of sorts. His novel "Demonsouled" was Amazon.com's #1 Early Adopter Item in Science Fiction and Fantasy for May 2005 (an award which, in terms of actual prestige, is about the level of winning Third Prize for Best Hog at an Iowa county fair), several science fiction and fantasy short stories, and the occasional nonfiction article.
