more fun with virtualization and WordPress

Apropos of my recent thoughts on virtualization and web testing, I spent the last two weeks or so (on and off) writing up detailed directions on just how to install WordPress locally on a Ubuntu 7.10 desktop. It's long and quite technical, but if you're at all interested on the topic, you might find it interesting.

Religiously, I am a Christian, but when it comes to politics, I'm an agnostic. I don't believe anything they say! No man can see the future, but I think I can predict with pretty fair accuracy how the Texas/Ohio primaries will turn out. Or, at least, how they'll be reported in the news:
If Obama wins, it'll be because Texas and Ohio were too sexist to support a female president. We'll see tsk-tsking articles arguing that blue-collar Ohioans and those redneck Texans were just too sexist to vote for Hillary. Jane Fonda will say something foolish on national television.
If Hillary wins, it'll be because Texas and Ohio were too racist to support a black president. We'll see tsk-tsking articles and TV segments arguing that blue-collar Ohioans and those redneck Texans (descended from Confederates, you know) were just too racist to vote for Obama. Al Sharpton will say something foolish on national television.
The best part is, I think all the articles and Breaking News Segments! were written in advance days ago, with blanks left in in appropriate places. And then written out foe-net-tick-cal-lee on big white cards, for those TV news anchors, because all the production budget went on the Race To The White House 2008 graphics, and there was no money left to train the news anchors in reading comprehension.
