we are orcs

I suppose I am a writer, at least titularly, so instead of blogging about technology and politics I should blog about writing, for once.
Well, I wrote a new sword & sorcery story, "Blackened Wolves", and then "A Day At The Community Wellness Center", which is dystopian sf/horror. That was real easy to write. You just visualize the worst in human nature and away you go. Tolkien needn't have written about the orcs, as we have plenty of orc-like humans running around. Or maybe it is humans who are really the orcs, after all.
Then I turned to a new non-fiction article, and to my extreme vexation found myself tongue-tied. It is a topic upon which I hold strong opinions, yet I couldn't articulate them. Vexing. Time to sleep on it, I think.
