the Food Network can take a long walk off a short pier

I could eat better, I thought. Both in terms of flavor and in health. I needn't only eat out of boxes, bags, or cans, reclining on the couch with a paperback novel in one hand. No! I could cook meals. With actual servings. And different courses. Meat and vegetables in the same meal!
So I set out to do just that. During the course of the evening:
-I burned my arm on the side of a hot pan, spilling grease upon the kitchen floor.
-I dropped a plate.
-While mopping the kitchen floor, to clean up aforementioned grease, I lost my balance, and landed atop my other arm and leg.
-I also landed atop the bucket, which shattered, and promptly flooded both the kitchen and my adjoining bedroom.
So. I have a very clean kitchen. I also have blisters on one arm, my other arm hurts, my foot hurts, my bucket is broken, I lost a plate, my bedroom carpet is hanging over my shower curtain rod, and I have gotten no writing done tonight, nor have I gone jogging.
I'm ordering a dang pizza tomorrow.
