The Book of Screed - January 14th, 2008

Today I just realized that I have blog entries scattered over five years.

Wow.

Of course, that sounds more impressive than it really is. I blogged for exactly 11 days in 2004, and 2008 is still in its infancy. But still. That's a lot of blog posts. Do I regret spending so much time on it? That would be an unqualified no, friends and neighbors. Through the blog I have made acquaintances, contacts, and even friends I would never have met otherwise. It's worked out pretty good.

A line from my first blog post:

...a true writer is never daunted by such miniscule obstacles as non-existent readership.

True then and now. Of course, I am reminded of another quotation from something I did not write:

Cast thy bread upon the waters: for thou shalt find it after many days.

Good advice, really.

The Amazon sales rank for Demonsouled jumped from 1.2 million to the number above. That means, as unlikely as it may seen, that someone actually bought a copy of Demonsouled. Again!

Unbelievable.

I expect the heavens to turn to fire, the moon to blood, the sun to ashes, and locusts and frogs to drop from the sky any minute now.

You might want to stock up on canned goods and bottled water. Just in case.
