To the barricades!
I intended to remain on hiatus, but a cause of such mortal urgency has captured my attention that I cannot remain silent.
Book review site FantasyBookSpot is running a book tournament, pitting Paul S. Kemp's Shadowstorm against Nick Mamatas's Under My Roof. The victor will be decided by the votes of the public. It's no secret that I greatly enjoyed Shadowstorm, but now issues far more serious turn about this contest.
Mamatas must be stopped! The fate of all civilization, indeed, of all mankind, hinges on this battle. For reliable anecdotal evidence confirms that Mamatas is a Godless Commie, devoted to Marx's totalitarian cult of nihilistic destruction. Mamatas worships regularly at a gilded shrine of mass-murderer Joseph Stalin while reciting The Communist Manifesto backwards in Latin, and often burns effigies representing Love, Hope, and Joy (since, of course, happiness is reactionary and counter-revolutionary) while singing The Internationale. And in the dark hours of the night, he dons an NKVD commissar's uniform and prowls the streets seeking innocents to destroy.
Indeed, old-style Commies wanted to corrupt our youth and pollute our precious bodily fluids, but this new breed of Lenin-lover is so monstrously twisted that he wants to devour our youth and their bodily fluids, as this photographic evidence irrefutably proves:

Alas, behold the despair upon the face of this child, knowing that there is no escape from the devouring jaws of Mamatas. This is only a taste of the unspeakable horrors he will wreak upon a prone world, should he triumph in this contest.
Therefore, in the name of justice, truth, and humanity, proceed to FantasyBookSpot with all speed and vote for Shadowstorm before it is too late!
