Ladies and gentlemen, it's time for my official review of Microsoft's amazing, revolutionary, groundbreaking, utterly breathtaking, paradigm-shattering new Office 2007 Productivity Suite:

We just upgraded at work, and I've had no problems yet. I like the interface. Plus, I found out you can hide that huge new bar at the top. But it's nothing groundbreaking. Not sure I want it at home just yet.

Also, one of the cool new features is that you can hover over certain formatting settings and they automatically preview on the page. For example, if you highlight text and want to change the font, hit the font dropdown list (scrollable) and hover over a new font. You can see what the highlighted text would look like without actually choosing it. That's pretty handy for me.

Yeah. I'm using it at work, where I'm doing a test run of it before I start deploying it to the labs. My main beef so far is that it's fairly sluggish compared to Office 2003, it takes fo-evAH to install and configure, and that for at least the next five years, I'm going to have people come to me and say "I saved a document in Word 2007 and my friend with Word 2003/XP/2000/97 can't read it! Why oh why!?"

On the other hand, I do agree with you that the interface does seem considerably more intuitive than all previous Office incarnations. I suspect it will have a sharper learning curve for people like me, who have been using Word since the Windows 3.0 days, as opposed to some 12 or 14 year old who's learning it for the first time. So it should be interesting to see how people respond to it.
